I am a New York City based industrial designer focused on making furniture and curated environments that are both functional and intimate. While my education and training is traditionally in “product design”, I am primarily interested in both the life of the product and its surrounding environment. By giving thought to the larger context of how a product lives, I hope to create a more thorough design. My creative process is mainly guided by relentless iteration- I believe that through repetition I can achieve the best design because it gives me the opportunity to explore all the formal opportunities and limitations. I infuse this iterative effort with deep research that is both academic and observational. Aesthetically, my work balances between the essential and rich detail, a combination that aims to serve the user while being emotionally responsive. In essence, my work is constantly balancing two opposing elements to create a dialectic experience for the user to reflect on.
